The Golden State Land Conservancy (GSLC) is a state-wide California land trust.

GSLC’s distinctive philosophy is to approach conservation pragmatically. Our initial focus is to fully understand a landowner’s vision for conservation within their property. We then work with the landowner to bring about both the most cost-effective and sustainable conservation outcomes while meeting regulatory and professional requirements in a common sense, practical way. Our philosophy has resonated with many satisfied landowners throughout California. GSLC has been responsible for over 52 conservation easements covering over 34,000 acres across the Golden State.

Many of GSLC’s conservation easements are donated by the landowner,
which typically provides them an income tax savings. Other property owners grant easements to conserve habitat used for mitigation. GSLC has several landowners and their representatives who are available as references.

GSLC is a California non-profit 501(c)(3) public benefit corporation.
