Easements Explained

Typically, conservation easements restrict certain development rights and protect natural wildlife habitat, streams, and other conservation values of the land. The Golden State Land Conservancy does not mandate any land management restrictions or controls within the conservation easement.

Conservation easements can take many forms and can be tailored to many kinds of situations. The overall requirement is that a real conservation outcome must be the result—an outcome that is valuable, permanent, and enforceable. GSLC has worked with many kinds of stakeholders and has proven experience in designing innovative solutions to conservation challenges.
